First up, Jo will talk about grids in her talk ‘Getting to Grips with Grid’. CSS grid finally brings 2 dimensional layouts to CSS with some incredibly powerful tools for creating beautiful responsive layouts. We’ll start with the basics of grid and then explore how to build some common layouts that you’ll see around the web, along with some advice on what grid is not for!

After the break she’ll be talking about one of our favourite JavaScript APIs in her talk ‘Improve web performance with Intersection Observer’. If your site suffering from a giant payload caused by a large number of images, Intersection Observer may be for you! She’ll introduce how to use this new API and then explain how to lazy load your images once they scroll into view.
